This information is for the very old UP! software not for UP Studio, UP Studio installer has drivers for the printers embeded.


Make sure the printer is powered on and plugged into your computer.


If you are using Windows 8 or Windows 8.1, be sure to disable signature driver enforcement.

Open the UP software. In the bottom right hand corner of the window, you will see a message "Printer disconnected".


Open up the control panel and "View by: Small icons", the open the Device manager. 


You should see "3DPrinter" under other devices with a small yellow triangle next to it. Right click on the printer and select "Update Driver software"


Next, select "Browse my computer for driver software"


Navigate to the 'UP' folder. This is normally located in "C:\Program Files (x86)\UP\" 


Be sure to check the tickbox to "Include subfolders", then click 'Next'


A warning window will pop up, click on "Install this driver software anyway".


The driver has now been installed.


In the device manager, you will now see a '3D Printer@Freemotion'. 


 You can now go to the UP software and select '3D Print->Initialise'.
